today i made a short trip to kronberg with my girlfriend. after visiting the zoo, the city center, the old part of the city and after there wasn’t really much more left to see, we were heading towards the schlosshotel (castle hotel) kronberg. the entrance to the street is impressive and even the castle itself is spectacular. the building was built in 1889 and was home and place of death of victoria, german empress, queen of prussia and princess royal of great britain and ireland.
situated directly next to this breath-taking building is a 18-hole golf course that was created after WW2. i haven’t played here but this course is definitely one of my next to take into account! it’s a true parkland course with lots of ancient trees and generally a huge tree population. it’s a bit looking like the course where i learned to play golf: narrow fairways, little first cut and immediate problems under the trees.
i look forward to playing here and really acquired a taste for it today. here you have some impressions.
